How To Nurse by Doane, How To Nurse Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download How To Nurse books, The First Edition of How to Nurse: Relational Inquiry With Individuals and Families in Changing Health and Health Care Contexts by Gweneth Doane and Colleen Varcoe focuses on the "how" of relational inquiry instead of the "what". The goal of this text is to help students engage in a thoughtful process of inquiry to more intentionally and consciously develop their knowledge and nursing practice, develop their confidence and ability to act in alignment with their nursing values, and to navigate the complexities of contemporary health care settings as they care for patients and families. Highlights of the first Edition, To Illustrate: This feature focuses on illustrating particular ideas and/or some larger and more general arguments. The authors include a number of real stories from patients and families, former students, practicing nurses and clinical nurse specialists to bring the ideas in the text to life. Try It Out: Try It Out features are learning activities that engage students in a range of ways with the content in the chapter. These learning activities, typically three or four per chapter, can be incorporated into activities in classrooms, clinical settings, online, or other teaching-learning settings. Text Boxes: Many of the chapters include text boxes to summarize and highlight some of the key relational inquiry ideas and/or strategies. An Example: This feature presents a story that illustrates a point being made in the text. The authors often return to the story in the chapter in which it is presented and in subsequent chapters. This Week in Practice: Each chapter has a learning activity at the end of the chapter that integrates the ideas presented in the chapter and draws upon readers' past or current practice experiences. These activities provide opportunities for the students to practice translating the chapter ideas into their clinical practice. Learning Objectives: Each chapter begins with identified learning objectives. These learning objectives align with each of the main sections of the chapter. Figures and Visual Images: The authors have included figures that depict the relationship between ideas as well as visual images which are focused on stimulating critical thinking through visual means as well as through written text.
